Public Service Electric & Gas Environmental Planning
Vantage has assisted Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) in a number of long-term assignments providing services in their environmental planning efforts. Some of these would include:
 | Reviewed the operations and maintenance
cost build-up and power rate structure for a $400 million
combined cycle power plant repowering project. This
engagement includes a competitive analysis of the
marketplace of similar projects and a review of gas
procurement plans. |
| Developed policy and protocols for NOx
emissions trading within the North East States for
Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM) demonstration
projects. |
| Assisted in the re-engineering of the environmental department. |
| Assisted in the development of the NOx
Reasonably Available Control Technology compliance plan
required by the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments and the New
Jersey State Implementation Plan. |
| Negotiated the first discrete emissions reduction (DER) NOx trade contract between PSE&G and Merck. |
| Designed a strategy and helped negotiate
an innovative CO2 reduction agreement with he Department
of Energy and the Environmental Defense Fund under
"Climate Challenge." |
| Performed a study of utilities NOx
emission reduction strategies in the Pennsylvania, New
Jersey, and Maryland areas and the competitive
implications PSE&G may be facing. |
| Conducted a survey of all states in the
Ozone Transport Region to determine the impact of
environmental compliance on their generating strategies. |
| Provided guidance and support for
strategic environmental public relations documents. |
| Designed and performed numerous presentations before PSE&G senior management, EPA, and NESCAUM. |
